HydroMill GmbH was founded based on the market success of the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT with the development and industrial application of water jet milling in order to combine the specialist knowledge and research expertise of a renowned Fraunhofer Institute with the agility and creativity of a start-up. As an independent Fraunhofer spin-off, HydroMill is by nature deeply rooted in research. By transferring many years of expertise with over 35 years of experience in the application of waterjet technology with the personnel significantly involved in the developments, HydroMill is able to stay at the cutting edge of technology and continue to generate groundbreaking ideas.
Our team
Manuel Schüler
Manuel Schüler founded HydroMill after working as a group leader for waterjet machining at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen. He studied aerospace engineering and production technology in Aachen.
As a SixSigma Black Belt, he has also many years of professional experience in managing publicly
funded and industrial projects.
Dr. Gerlind Herberich
Dr.-Ing. Gerlind Herberich studied and graduated in Aachen. As a Expert in Computer Vision and Image Processing, she helps us bring the big picture together. Our pioneering work therefore also includes the areas of artificial intelligence, deep learning and machine learning for production environments.
